Munich/Vienna, 09.07.2008 - From July 10th to July 13th the NESTEA European Championship Final will be played in Hamburg, Germany. Once again LAOLA1.tv, the number one address for volleyball video streams, will broadcast all Semi-Finals and Finals live on the internet on www.laola1.tv.
After a one month break of the Nestea European Beach Volleyball Championship Tour the top event of this year's tour takes place in Hamburg. Qualified are 32 men and women teams: the 30 best ranked European teams and two teams participating with a wild card, who will determine the successor of last year's winners Vassiliki Arvanity / Vassiliki Karadassiou (Greece, women) and Clemens Doppler / Peter Gartmayer (Austria, men). Apart from these two teams, who will try to defend their titles, there are many other strong teams being favourites for the victory such as David Klemperer / Eric Koreng (GER) and Reinder Aart Nummerdor / Richard Schuil (NED) in the men's competition and the women teams Sara Goller / Laura Ludwig (GER) and Liesbet van Breedam / Liesbeth Mouha (BEL).
The 64 participants of the Hamburg tournament come from Germany, The Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Poland, Georgia, Russia, Norway and Denmark. Germany with six women and four men teams has the biggest contingent in the starting field, including Julius Brink / Christoph Dieckamnn the European Champions of 2006.
Besides winning the prestigious European title, the Championship Final is also important to collect further ranking points to qualify for the Olympic Games in Beijing.
